Mari went to nursery for the first time last Sunday! Before this Sunday, she would run straight to the nursery room after Sacrament meeting because she knew there was where the toys were. She would much rather be playing with toys than sitting with Momma and Daddy through Sunday school! She would always walk into the nursery room, and we’d drag her out, kicking and screaming, while other parents were trying to dray their kids in, kicking and screaming. When we led her into the nursery room last Sunday, she was very confused because we were actually letting her stay! I set her up with a stroller and a doll and left without looking back. Having been nursery workers, Aaron and I know that the kids don’t do as well if their parents linger. The nursery door says open, but they put a mobile cabinet in front of the door so the bottom is blocked. I couldn’t resist the urge to peek in to see how she was doing. The first time I peeked in, they were having story time and she was sitting on one of the leaders’ laps listening to the story. The next time I peeked in (of course in a way so that she couldn’t see me) she was sitting at the little table waiting to get her snack. She was just going along with everything! She’s pretty easy-going when it comes to change. When church ended, I went to pick her up. They always blow bubbles at the end, so when Mari saw me, she didn’t run up to me and start crying like other kids usually do, but she pointed to the bubbles above her and said “bubbles!” enthusiastically. She loves bubbles. She drew a picture of herself that said “God made me!” that they attached to a string to tie around her neck. Seeing her in the nursery room playing with the bubbles with that picture around her neck made me choke up. My baby is in nursery now!

Wow...she's already in nursery! We did nursery in our ward this past semester and the kids in there were so cute! That's exciting for you and I'm glad Mari's adjusting well to it.
