President Gordon Bitner Hinckley passed away tonight. He was 97 years old, and was the prophet for almost 13 years. President Hinckley was the prophet of my youth. I was 9 years old when he became prophet, and leadership and faith got me through my trials. Although I will miss him dearly, I am so grateful for the life he lived. 
I remember the day his wife, Marjorie Pay Hinckley, died: April 6, 2004. I've been sad for President Hinckley to have lost his wife, but with his passing, I know they are having a joyful reunion. The doctrine of the Plan of Salvation gives me comfort in times like these.
