Mari turned 1 this week. We had a big party with the family.
On first birthdays, tradition in my family lets the birthday girl eat the cake using her fingers.
Mari took a long time to understand that it was okay to eat directly off the cake. Once she got it, she had fun with the cake.
There's nothing like having your cake and eating it too...and it being okay to have your face covered in frosting.
After a dunk in the tub, Mari went back to playing with her new toys.
