Mari went to the dentist for the first time today. I brought her to the same dentist I went to when I was a little girl, Dr. Jan (she only takes children and is absolutely GREAT). The people there were great with her. Mari loved sitting in the chair to get her x-rays taken. She got to pick a movie to watch on the monitor above the exam table. She chose "Finding Nemo," of course. She was a little scared of actually lying down on the table to get her teeth clean, but after prying her arms off my neck, she held perfectly still for the hygienist and stopped crying after three minutes. She held my hand tight through the cleaning and flossing. After the cleaning, Mari waited a while for her turn with the dentist.
Watching "Finding Nemo" for a while really relaxed her. :) Dr. Jan was very impressed with how relaxed Mari was. Mari was great for her when she counted her teeth. No cavities!
After her check-up, Mari got to pick a prize. She chose a colorful pinwell. She played in the waiting area while I checked out. (This waiting area is great. They play movies, have lego sets, and four video game consoles.)
Mari received an A+ for being a great patient and having no cavities. Yay Mari!
